How much does TikTok Shop take per sale?
In the US, TikTok Shop’s public fee pages list a referral fee of 6% for most categories (5% for some fine-jewelry and pre-owned categories), charged on what the buyer pays including shipping, minus sales tax. In the UK the commission is 9% including VAT. Creator commission, shipping, ads and refunds are extra costs on top. See TikTok Shop fees explained.
Is there a separate payment processing fee in the US?
TikTok’s US referral fee page says the referral fee “encompasses all TikTok Shop fees, with the exception of shipping and tax fees”, so the calculator does not add a separate US payment fee. Other countries can differ: use “Other country” and enter your own rates.

What creator (affiliate) commission should I use?
You choose it. TikTok Shop lets sellers set affiliate commission from 1% to 80% per product. Enter the rate you plan to offer creators, or 0% for sales from your own videos.
What happens to fees when an order is refunded?
In the US, TikTok refunds the referral fee minus a Refund Administration Fee of 20% of the referral fee, capped at $5 per SKU. In the UK, TikTok’s commission page says the full commission is refunded when the whole order is returned. The calculator spreads the expected cost of refunds across all orders using your refund rate.
Does this include sales tax, VAT or income tax?
No. US sales tax is outside the referral fee base and is collected from the buyer. VAT and income tax depend on your own situation, so they are not included.
